SLATE SHINGLES

Slate shingles are divided into two categories: hard and soft. They come in various sizes, shapes, colors, and styles. Colored slates are most of the time classified as hard slate and black slates are most commonly soft, but of course, there are some exceptions. Sometimes a colored slate faded due to sun exposure and becomes black.

Hard slate is one of the toughest kinds of roofing available, it holds the structure for decades and has some properties that increase its durabilities. Hard slate doesn’t absorb water or become distorted from exposure to moisture and has high weather resilience and fire resistance. Due to these characteristics, shingles made from hard slate can last anywhere from 75 to 200 years.

Soft slate is the less enduring of the two. Its overall structure doesn’t have resistance from the Hard slate. That’s why shingles made of soft slate usually have a life prospect of 50 to 125 years. However, soft slate has the equivalent weather-resistant and fireproof features when compared with hard slate.

These guys were the key component in a very favorable roof damage insurance experience. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Knowing we have little kids they even sent a guy to do an additional sweep of construction nails around the house a day later just to make sure cleanup was done right. All quotes and costs were accurate and everything done in a timely manner. I had little experience with my insurance provider but these guys help answer all those questions and made communication seamless. Job well done! God bless

These guys were fantastic. Great sales team, professional and fast installers! This whole stressful process was made incredibly easy by these guys. 100% would recommend them to anyone. Unfortunately my insurance would not cover or even help with the cost of my new roof. Roofers LLC ended up doing my roof for $8000 less than I thought I was going to have to pay. I’m beyond happy and impressed.
